Je me suis réveillé ce matin en pensant à une phrase prononcée par mon professeur de systémique il y a maintenant vingt ans. Il disait: ” la finalité d’un système s’observe au présent.” Si j’ai bien compris, l’état du monde aujourd’hui est une finalité. Le regain des conflits violents, l’extrémisme, les cataclysmes naturels, la pandémie, les crises sociales et économiques, l’emballement des algorithmes financiers sont consubstantiels à notre écosystème mondial.
Les progrès scientifiques et technologiques, la somme des connaissances accumulées, les conditions de vie les meilleures et les plus confortables depuis l’antiquité participent aussi de ces finalités. Tout se passe comme si l’humanité obtenait des résultats non voulus et non programmés par celles et ceux supposés la gouverner.
Les finalités observables des écosystèmes plus petits que la planète sont du même ordre. Les finalités d’une famille, d’une association, d’une entreprise diffèrent le plus souvent des buts, objectifs et valeurs affichées par leurs promoteurs.
Le regard systémique consiste à prendre de la distance pour appréhender autant que faire se peut l’ensemble des interactions contribuant à l’équilibre de l’écosystème. Il consiste aussi à se mettre en lenteur afin de s’affranchir des réflexes activés sous urgence du type : ce n’est pas normal, c’est la faute à, cela n’aurait pas dû arriver, il faut que, il aurait fallu, nous allons dans le mur, ce n’est pas grave, cela s’arrangera tout seul…
Au-delà du regard global sur les liens et interactions équilibrant à un moment donné l’écosystème, l’adoption d’une démarche systémique consiste à transformer les finalités observées en données à traiter.
